Description
The Sketcher CreateFillet tool creates a fillet between two non-parallel edges.
Usage
See also: Drawing aids.
- There are several ways to invoke the tool:
- Press the Sketch fillet button.
- Select the Sketcher → Sketcher geometries → Create fillet option from the menu.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: G then F, then F.
- If there is a previous selection it is cleared. The tool does not accept a pre-selection.
- The cursor changes to a white cross with with the tool icon.
- Do one of the following:
- Pick a point with a coincident constraint connecting two non-parallel straight edges.
- Pick two non-parallel edges. Either edge can be a straight line, an arc, an arc of ellipse, an arc of hyperbola or an arc of parabola. B-splines are currently not supported.
- This tool always runs in continue mode: optionally keep selecting points and/or edges.
- Right-click or press Esc, or start a another constraints or geometries tool, to finish.
Notes
- Some (conic) curves may need to be trimmed before they can be filleted.
- If a point connecting two non-parallel straight edges is selected, the fillet radius is derived from the length of the shortest edge.
- If two edges are selected the radius is the distance from the first clicked point to the (extended) intersection of the edges.
