Description

The TechDraw VerticalDimension tool adds a vertical dimension to a View. The dimension may be the vertical distance between two vertices or the vertical length of a straight edge. As with the TechDraw LengthDimension tool it is also possible to select two edges or a vertex and an edge, but these options make less sense for this tool.

For more information see TechDraw LengthDimension.

Length dimension taken from two arbitrary nodes of the view; the distance is measured vertically

Usage

See TechDraw LengthDimension.

Dimension dialog

See TechDraw LengthDimension.

Limitations

Dimension objects are vulnerable to the "topological naming problem". See TechDraw LengthDimension.

Notes

See TechDraw LengthDimension.

Properties

See TechDraw LengthDimension.

Scripting

See also: Autogenerated API documentation and FreeCAD Scripting Basics.

The Vertical Dimension tool can be used in macros and from the Python console by using the following functions:

dim1 = FreeCAD.ActiveDocument.addObject('TechDraw::DrawViewDimension','Dimension')
dim1.Type = "DistanceX"
dim1.References2D=[(view1, 'Edge1')]
rc = page.addView(dim1)
