Description

Snaps to the closest point or edge on the nearest object.

Snapping a line to the edge of a rectangle

How to use

  1. Make sure File:Snap Lock.svg Draft ToggleSnap and File:Snap Near.svg Snap Near are turned on.
  2. Choose a Draft tool to draw a shape.
  3. Move the cursor near the object to which you wish to attach your point.
  4. A small yellow circle will indicate where your point will be attached; it can be a vertex or an edge.
  5. Click to attach your new point.

Notes

This method also works for operations like Draft Move and Draft Rotate.

Snapping will try other snap methods first, or just attach to the nearest point on the target object.
