Description
The Sketcher Rotate tool rotates and optionally copies selected elements. Copies are evenly distributed along the rotation angle.
Usage
See also: Drawing aids.
Pos-OVP = Positional On-View-Parameters.
Dim-OVP = Dimensional On-View-Parameters.
- Select one or more elements (edges or points).
- There are several ways to invoke the tool:
- Press the Polar transform button.
- Select the Sketcher → Sketcher tools → Polar transform option from the menu.
- Right-click in the 3D view and select the Polar transform option from the context menu.
- The keyboard shortcut: Z then P.
- The cursor changes to a white cross with the tool icon.
- The Rotate parameters section is added at the top of the Sketcher Dialog.
- Optionally change the number of Copies (this can also be done after picking the center and/or the start angle):
- Enter a number.
- Press the U key to increase the number.
- Press the J key to decrease the number.
- Optionally check the Clone constraints checkbox to copy dimensional constraints instead of replacing them with equality constraints.
- Pick the rotation center. Or with Pos-OVP: enter its X and/or Y coordinate.
- Pick a point to define the start angle of the rotation. Or with Dim-OVP: enter it.
- Pick a point to define rotation angle. Or with Dim-OVP: enter it.
- The geometry is rotated or copies are created.
