Description
The Sketcher SelectElementsWithDoFs tool is meant to aid in fully constraining a sketch by highlighting in green the sketch elements with remaining degrees of freedom (DoF).
In edit mode the Solver messages section at the top of the Tasks panel, one of the following messages will be displayed:
Fully constrained sketch
Over-constrained sketch (X)
- where "X" is a list of the index numbers of the conflicting constraints in the sketch. A click on the blue link invokes the Sketcher SelectConflictingConstraints command.
Redundant constraints (X)
- where "X" is a list of the index numbers of the redundant constraints in the sketch. A click on the blue link invokes the Sketcher SelectRedundantConstraints command.
Under-constrained sketch with X degrees of freedom
- where "X" is the number of degrees of freedom remaining in the sketch. A click on the blue link invokes this Sketcher SelectElementsWithDoFs command to find under-constrained sketch elements.
Usage
- Tthere are several ways to invoke this command:
- Click on the blue link in the Tasks panel as described above.
- Select the Sketch → Sketcher tools → Select unconstrained DoF option from the menu.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: Z then F.
- Under-constrained sketch elements are now highlighted in green (default color).
- Click anywhere in the sketch to clear the highlight color.
