The '''Std Alignment''' command aligns an object in relation to a fixed reference object using one or more point pairs.
This function allows you to position and orientate two selected shapes, by aligning two or more selected points, on each of those two different shapes, with each other. It works in all workbenches.

The Alignment tool requires only one pair of reference points, however in most cases correct orientation and positioning will require 3 reference points.

# Select the reference object. This will be the fixed object and not be changed.
This is the example project before objects have been aligned
# Hold down the {{KEY|Ctrl}} key while you select the object whose placement you want to change.
# Select the {{MenuCommand|Edit → Alignment...}} option from the menu.
# A new window will appear in the [[Main_view_area|Main view area]]. This window consists of two views: on the left the movable object is displayed and on the right the fixed object.
# Define the first point pair by clicking a point in each view. This point pair is used to move the movable object.
# Define one or two more point pairs if you also want to rotate the movable object.
# Right-click one of the views and select the {{MenuCommand|Align}} option from the context menu to complete the command.

To Align the objects start by Multi-selecting two objects only. The first object selected will be the fixed object. The second object selected will be moved by the Alignment tool.

After you have multi-selected two objects, start the Alignment tool from the {{MenuCommand|Edit → Alignment ...}}.

A double window will appear, showing a view of each of the selected objects. The window on the left will show the movable object and the window on the right will show the fixed object.

Right mouse click in either windows to access the context menu. From the context menu you can
#remove the last pair of points,
#run and then close the Alignment tool,
#cancel the Alignment operation and close the Alignment tool
#or syncronise views. If ticked, this will synchronise pan/rotate/zoom of the views in the double windows, with each other.

Описание

The Std Alignment command aligns an object in relation to a fixed reference object using one or more point pairs.

The command interface after two point pairs have been defined

Применение

  1. Select the reference object. This will be the fixed object and not be changed.
  2. Hold down the Ctrl key while you select the object whose placement you want to change.
  3. Select the Edit → Alignment... option from the menu.
  4. A new window will appear in the Main view area. This window consists of two views: on the left the movable object is displayed and on the right the fixed object.
  5. Define the first point pair by clicking a point in each view. This point pair is used to move the movable object.
  6. Define one or two more point pairs if you also want to rotate the movable object.
  7. Right-click one of the views and select the Align option from the context menu to complete the command.

Опции

В контекстном меню доступны следующие дополнительные опции:

  • Выберите опцию Удалить последнюю точку, чтобы удалить последнюю точку в представлении.
  • Выберите опцию Отмена, чтобы прервать выполнение команды.
  • Отметьте опцию Синхронизация представлений, если какие-либо изменения вида (панорамирование, поворот и масштабирование) должны быть применены к обоим видам.
