Deletion of pages

Hi Jürgen. I created a little tool for deleting pages by admins. The users places Template:delete on the page and the administrator looks for Category:Pages to delete where he can see all pages that are listed for deletion. The usage of the template is explained in Template talk:Delete. HTH -- Dr. Schorsch 15:06, 29 September 2006 (CEST)

Email verification

Hi Juergen, the mediawiki can authenticate email adresses and then enable email notifications when certain pages are changed. To enable this go to your personal Settings page. Currently the mediawiki is setup in a way that this authentications are valid only for a week. Would be nice if you could change this to 6 month or a year. -- Dr. Schorsch 09:14, 2 October 2006 (CEST)

Branding finished

Hi juergen, I just finished the Branding article (more or less). Could you review it or add your suggestions?

There is one thing I could not find: FreeCAD always shows up as "[Non-Commercial]]" in the window title. Where can I change this?

By the way my own brand looks quite nice :-) -- Dr. Schorsch 15:27, 2 October 2006 (CEST)

Global style sheet

How to hook to online help?

Hi Juergen, could you give me some hints how we would hook this wiki to the online help feature of freecad? I assume that we use keywords like the python commands that are executed by a menu. Since these keywords might not be suitable as "encyclopedic" keywords they might just go on a redirect page which leads to an article with a nicer lemma. A redirect is created by placing the following sequence on the top of a page:

#REDIRECT [[Article to go to]]

What do you think of this? -- Dr. Schorsch 12:38, 6 October 2006 (CEST)

Congratulation

Hi Juergen,

congratulation to the new home. The Frontpage looks cool with pictures :-) -- Dr. Schorsch 09:34, 16 October 2006 (CEST)

Install on Windows

Hi Jürgen,

there exists allready an article "Install on Windows" for the windows installer. I suggests, that you move your stuff from "Using Windows Installer" there to keep the existing structure of the user documentation. I changed your link in the User hub. Have a look on the navigation bar there. Have a nice weekend :-) -- Dr. Schorsch 15:36, 20 October 2006 (CEST)

Welcome template

Hi Juergen, we got 2 (in words: "two") new registered users in the wiki! That is a 66% increase in one week, that means our wiki will have 27350 users after 20 weeks and it will explode after 30 weeks or so...

I found that a good reason to create a welcome template to be placed on the users talk page. See the template page for usage infos. How it looks you can see here:

welcome to the FreeCAD documentation wiki. Thanks for participating in this project. There are a few places where new authors can find help. A good starting point is maybe the help page, that explains the most important editing features. If you are not familiar with wiki editing just try it in the Sandbox. In general Wikipedia is a good place to find nice examples of media wiki usage.

Bye -- Dr. Schorsch 09:29, 27 October 2006 (CEST)
