  • Due to invalidity of self-intersecting sweeps, it is next to impossible to generate a thread with no gap between each tooth, that is, with no straight cylindrical face at the inner sides of the thread.
  • Boolean operations are required to obtain a single contiguous solid. Boolean operations take a relatively long time to calculate, and fail often.
  • Threads with a high number of turns are problematic.
