Description

The Sketcher CreateFillet tool creates a fillet between two lines.

Usage

See also: Drawing aids.

  1. There are several ways to invoke the tool:
    • Press the Sketch fillet button.
    • Select the Sketcher → Sketcher geometries → Create fillet option from the menu.
    • Use the keyboard shortcut: G then F then F.
  2. The cursor changes to a white cross with the current tool mode icon (and the selection is emptied).
  3. Do one of the following:
    • Pick a vertex connecting two non-parallel straight lines.
    • Pick two non-parallel curves (straight line, arc, arc of ellipse, arc of hyperbola, and arc of parabola) except B-splines.

Notes

  • Some (conic) curves may need to be trimmed before they can be successfully be filleted.
  • If a vertex connecting two non-parallel straight lines is selected the fillet radius is derived from the length of the shortest line.
  • If two curves are selected the radius is the distance from the first clicked point to the (extended) intersection of the lines.
