Description

Inserts a subtractive box in the active Body. Its shape is subtracted from the existing solid.

Usage

  1. There are several ways to invoke the tool:
    • Press the   Subtractive Box button. Note: the Subtractive Box is part of an icon menu labelled Subtractive Primitive. After launching FreeCAD, the Subtractive Box is the one displayed in the toolbar. If a different primitive is displayed, click on the down arrow besides the icon and select Subtractive Box in the menu.
    • Select the Part Design → Subtractive Primitive →   Subtractive Box option from the menu.
  2. The task panel opens.
  3. Set the parameters. introduced in 1.2: If the Show interactive draggers when editing features preference is selected (default), parameters can be adjusted with interactive gizmos in the 3D View.
  4. Optionally set the Attachment.
  5. Click OK.
  6. A Box feature appears under the active Body.

Options

The Box can be edited after its creation in two ways:

  • Double-clicking it in the Tree View, or by right-clicking and selecting Edit Primitive in the context menu; this brings up the task panel and (introduced in 1.2) the interactive gizmos (if enabled).
  • Via the Property View.

Properties

  • ÚdajeAttachment: defines the attachment mode as well as the Attachment Offset. See Part EditAttachment.
  • ÚdajeLabel: Label given to the Box object. Change to suit your needs.
  • ÚdajeLength: the Box's dimension in the X-direction.
  • ÚdajeWidth: the Box's dimension in the Y-direction.
  • ÚdajeHeight: the Box's dimension in the Z-direction.
