Design456 Workbench
This workbench is under heavy development
Introduction
The Design456 workbench is an External workbench that plans to implement a Direct Modeling methodology in FreeCAD. Think 'push and pull geometry' that one finds in CAD suites like SketchUp and Fusion360.
Background
Traditionally, FreeCAD employs a Parametric Modeling methodology which is a powerful and scalable approach. It is also has been an industry standard.
Installation
Download the Design456 workbench via the Addon Manager Tools → Addon Manager

Tools
2D Drawing and manipulation tools
- Design456 Arc3Points: Use this tool to create an Arc. The points you choose or select could be from other shapes for example a cube, or they could be just points you put on any plane (delete them later). You can combine several planes to get a curve crossing several planes. This tool is useful if you want to use it with surface tool to create a new surface. Any three points should be sufficient to create the arc. Combining two arcs could be used to make a circle also.
- File:MultiPointsToWireClosed.svg MultiPointsToWireClose: Use this tool to create a series of lines between points selected in series. The order of selection will decide how the lines are arranged. The lines then will be closed and a surface will be created.
- MultiPointsToWireOpen: Use this tool to create a series of lines between points selected in series. The order of selection will decide how the lines are arranged. The lines then will be open, but no surface is created.
