Introduction
Std Base is not really a workbench, but rather a category of 'standard' commands and tools that can be used in all workbenches.
Tools
Most Std Base tools can be accessed from the standard menu. Those that are only available via a toolbar or a context menu are listed under Additional tools below.
The standard menu is composed of 7 sub-menus. Each sub-menu has a dedicated page. Just click on any of the names below.

Additional tools
Recompute: Recomputes the document or selected objects.
Link Group: Creates a group of links.
Select All Instances: Selects all instances of an object in the Tree View.
Toggle Freeze: Toggles the freeze state of objects. introduced in 1.0
Vertex Selection: Only allows the selection of vertices.
Edge Selection: Only allows the selection of edges.
Face Selection: Only allows the selection of faces.
No Selection Filters: Allows the selection of all subelements.
- Copy Selected: Copies expression data from selected objects to the Clipboard.
- Copy Active Document: Copies expression data from the active document to the Clipboard.
- Copy All Documents: Copies expression data from all documents to the Clipboard.
- Paste: Pastes expression data from the Clipboard.
Obsolete tools
Measure distance: Creates an object to measure and display a distance. Not available in 1.0 and above. Use Std Measure instead.
Clear measurement: Clears Part measurements. Not available in 1.0 and above. Use Std Measure instead.
Toggle measurement: Toggles the display of Part measurements. Not available in 1.0 and above. Use Std Measure instead.
FreeCAD FAQ: Opens the FreeCAD FAQ wiki page. Not available in 1.1 and above.
Python scripting documentation: Opens the FreeCAD Power users documentation wiki page. Not available in 1.1 and above.
Help: Opens the help documentation. Not available in 1.1 and above.
Stop macro recording: Stops a macro recording session. Integrated in Std DlgMacroRecord. Not available in 1.0 and above.
Debug Macro: Starts a debugging session for the macro in the Macro editor. Not available in 26.3 and above.
Stop Debugging: Stops a debugging session. Not available in 26.3 and above.
- Step Over: Steps over code. Not available in 26.3 and above.
- Step Into: Steps into code. Not available in 26.3 and above.
- Toggle Breakpoint: Toggles a breakpoint. Not available in 26.3 and above.
Stereo Red/Cyan: Switches to red/cyan stereo view. Not available in 26.3 and above.
Stereo Quad Buffer: Switches to quad buffer stereo view. Not available in 26.3 and above.
Stereo Interleaved Rows: Switches to interleaved rows stereo view. Not available in 26.3 and above.
Stereo Interleaved Columns: Switches to interleaved columns stereo view. Not available in 26.3 and above.
Stereo Off: Switches stereo view off. Not available in 26.3 and above.
