Description
The Part CrossSections command creates one or more cross-sections through the selected shape, parallel to one of the default global planes (XY, XZ or YZ).
Usage
- Select a shape.
- There are several ways to invoke the command:
- Press the
Cross-Section button.
- Select the Part →
Cross-Section option from the menu.
- Press the
- The Cross Sections task panel opens.
- Define the guiding plane.
- Define the position (height of the cross-section).
- Optionally, check Sections to create more than one cross-section:
- Checking On both sides will distribute the cross-sections on each side of the guiding plane location.
- Set the count.
- Press OK to close the task panel.
- A Cross-Section object will be created, it inherits the name of the selected shape and adds the suffix _cs.
Notes
- App Link objects linked to the appropriate object types and App Part containers with the appropriate visible objects inside can also be used as source objects.
- The resulting object is not parametric, that is it is not linked to the original shape.
- A single object is created, even with more than one cross-section.
