Description

The SheetMetal Extrude command extends a sheet metal face.

Usage

To Extend the face:

  1. Start with a base plate or sheet, select a thin face representing the thickness of the metal sheet
  2. Click on the Extrude tool to extend the face.

Note: To create a base plate use a closed 2D outline - preferably a Sketch - with the Make Base Wall command.
Alternatively you can generate a base plate with one of the following methods as well:

If you start with a PartDesign Body, you can mix Sheet Metal features with PartDesign features such as pockets or holes.

Note: In an extension operation, set Refine = true.
