Description
The Sketcher ConstrainLock tool applies Horizontal distance and Vertical distance constraints to points. If a single point is selected, the constraints will refer to the sketch origin. If two or more points are selected, the constraints will refer to the last selected point.
Usage
See also: Drawing aids.
- Select one or more points (optional if the tool will run in continue mode).
- There are several ways to invoke the tool:
- Press the Constrain lock button.
- Select the Sketch → Sketcher constraints → Constrain lock option from the menu.
- introduced in version 0.22: Right-click in the 3D view and select the Dimension → Constrain lock option from the context menu.
- Use the keyboard shortcut: K then L.
- If the tool runs in continue mode:
- The cursor changes to a white cross with the tool icon.
- Optionally keep selecting points. You can only select one point at a time now.
- To finish, right-click or press Esc, or start a another constraints or geometries tool.
Notes
- Optionally edit the constraints values by either:
- Double-click on a constraint value in the 3D view.
- Double-click on the constraint in the Tasks tab.
- Right-click on the constraint in the Tasks tab and select Change value in the context menu.
Scripting
The Lock constraint is a GUI command which creates a Horizontal distance and a Vertical distance constraint, it is not a constraint of its own. See the Sketcher scripting page for details and examples on how to create these constraints from Python scripts.
